Since July 2008, The Times newspaper has been giving away free Penguin books from time to time at selected outlets in London, UK. Fifteen of the books are from the Penguin Celebrations series of 2007 and all use the Celebrations’ retro cover which is itself based on Edward Young’s original cover design for Penguin Books in 1935. However, the barcode on the back of the Celebrations covers has been replaced by The Times masthead and the words ‘NOT FOR RESALE’, with the masthead also added above the Penguin logo at the base of the spine. In addition to the 15 Celebrations, the 70 books given away to date include ten new mini-series, as follows:

15 x Penguin Celebrations: Monday 21st July - Friday 8th August 2008

10 x Penguin 'Film Classics' (black covers): Monday 2nd - Friday 13th February 2009

5 x Penguin Adventure (lime green covers): Monday 20th - Friday 24 July 2009

5 x Penguin Romance (red covers): Monday 27th - Friday 31st July 2009

5 x Penguin Crime (violet covers): Monday 3rd - Friday 7th August 2009

5 x Penguin Humour (yellow covers): Monday 10th - Friday 14th August 2009

My Car was broken into some time after 11pm and before 5am (neighbour walking her dog confirmed it was broken when she went out to walk her dog. A Chrome/Black iPod 80GB Classic (S/N: 8K801GZ5YMV ) was stolen from the dock in the center. Nothing else was taken, not the CDs, collectibles, nor even my laptop and computer parts in the back seat.
